Because of my love for the combined brutality and elegance of the sport, I created a zine about women's rugby titled Scrum. I started with a manifesto, and then included articles I wrote highlighting a star player, Portia Woodman, and then a college team. I used my love of hand type, illustration, a collaging method to create a grittiness that reflects the sport itself. I also created mock covers showing what the zine would look if multiple issues were created. The zine includes collectable trading cards.
